Big weekend
Finally a nice weekend. Well, Much better than it has been. I have a list of things that need to be done at my house since my dog decided he was going to destroy it. The list includes replacing glass in a window, replacing door and floor trim, and washing the blood off the curtains. Workouts: Tonight 1:30 bike - intense (if I have the energy). Tomorrow: 4.5 hour bike. Sunday: 1:15 Bike followed by a "21" min run (3 sets of 7 min with 3 min walk inbetween). I had a great swim on Wednesday and a short bike after. This week I have been feeling so wore down. I don't know if I am sick in some sort of way, but I have not felt like eating. I get hungry, but the thought of actually eating something makes me want to throw up. I have been trying to drink as much water as I can, but even that I am not thrilled about wanting to do. Last night I passed on my swim workout because I think I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder from Monday's swim. It was bothering me at work so I decided to give it a break. It was only a 30 min swim anyway. So I did a 30 min bike followed by a "15" min run (3 sets of 5 min with 5 min walk in between). I also decided to sub for a slow pitch softball team this year and last night was my first game. I had so much fun. I can't wait to get into it full time again. Today my shoulder is feeling much better. I think I just need to give it a little time for the pain to go away. Monday I will be back swimming again. Last night when I was running, my body wanted to go, but my heart rate was not having it. I was running at what I thought was a comfortable pace. My body was relaxed and I felt really good until I looked at my watch: 168. Holy cow, I need to bring that down. 161 is my 75% mark. Usually I run at 155-158. I have lost so much cardiovascular endurance but not muscle memory. cardio needs to get with the program here :) I still havent run any place yet where I know the mileage so I dont know my pace right now. You cant really tell your pace for a 5 min run anyway. In about 2 weeks I have my first "straight" run. 25 min, so I will be able to check out my pace then. It is probably good that it is a ways away so I can get some endurance back first. I also have my blog set up on the register. I will post a link on here when they have officially launched them. I am planning on gearing that more towards my thoughts and training for the Hyvee and keeping this blog for my Ironman training. I will have several different feelings and thoughts for each, especially when Hyvee nears. That will be my focus then, after Kansas and after Bluff Creek. So for 2 weeks, Hyvee will be my focus, lol. After that I am still debating about signing up for Big Creek. I want to do that race, but I am for sure waiting until after Hyvee so I can see how my body feels and how my foot has taken the stress for the month of June. If I make it through June with no problems, I feel like I am in the clear. No races planned (maybe Big Creek) until Louisville. It is crazy how fast all of this has gone by. Feels like I just registered. On my email, the calender goes out 3 months. July is now the third month. One more month, August will be there. I will see the race day everyday from then on. I am getting nervous. I need to go bike or something.
