56 glorious miles, wait, make it 60

Dispite the fact that I have a sinus and an ear infection, I ventured down to Lawrence, Kansas this last weekend for the free training ride they had. Let me tell you, it was a great day to do this great ride. It was up in the air or not if I was going to go because of the rain, but it looked like it was going to clear up so I went. Arrived at the race start at about 1pm. Got all of my stuff ready to go and ended up almost missing the group. I had to quickly catch onto the last group. This was such a nice ride. I am hoping race day will be as nice. I am glad I did this because now I know the course and know where the good spots are to take in some nutrition and where I can let me heart rate get a little higher or where to keep it low. Roads were all smooth. It was great. I am very happy with my training so far for the bike. I never felt like I was tired. I had a mental set back where I missed a turn and ended up going an extra 4 miles, but once I over came that, I was feeling good again. I feel like I will be able to be under my 3 hour mark on this course. Just hope my running will be where I want it to be. Sunday, I laid in bed all day. Today, I am skipping my swim workout to go home and rest. I finally have a little more energy today than I did all weekend. Hopefully I will feel much better tomorrow. Side note: Sunday is the end of week 6. I get to run. It is only for 10 min, but I am super excited.
